Learn how the stock market works and study how real estate markets function. Examine how companies make financial decisions and research the work that goes into managing a small company.

Finance is a critical part of all organizations and is used by individuals, governments, businesses, schools and not-for-profits. By completing this minor at SHC, you’ll be able to demonstrate focused skills in finance, while at the same time earning a broader degree.

Students who graduate with a minor in finance complete 6 required courses and 2 electives for a minimum of 24 credit hours. Spring Hill College has been named a College of Distinction for its Division of Business and their dedicated faculty and innovative programs.

Program Goals

This program will provide students with the foundational principles of accounting, economics, and financial markets and management. This Finance minor will allow students to have a broader understanding of financial situations and look past the numbers to develop the optimal solution by always thinking of the larger picture.

Career Outlook

As a finance minor, students will be able to use the analytical skills they have learned in this program to work in a variety of financial roles, from financial advisors to management and beyond. Graduates will be able to assess situations with ease and develop real-world financial solutions in a timely manner.
