Program Goals

Our award-winning nursing program prepares students for a successful career in nursing through a strong, personalized education mixed with rigorous professional experiences.

The nursing curriculum consists of two phases: pre-professional and professional. The pre-professional phase is open to all students declaring nursing as their major and consists of the courses included in the first three semesters of the program. Admission to the professional phase, which begins the second semester of the sophomore year, involves the fulfillment of specific requirements and a separate application reviewed by the nursing faculty.

Career Outlook

As graduates of the top-ranked nursing program in the state of Alabama, you’ll be able to work as a nurse in almost every field in the country, depending on certifications. Our nursing graduates are a group of elite nurses that have been able to work in a variety of settings and environments.

The Division of Nursing BSN program has an upcoming accreditation visit which has been scheduled for September 20-22, 2023.  If there are any written third-party comments, you may send them to thirdpartycomments@ccneaccreditation.org by August 31, 2023.  Comments must be written in English and consistent with CCNE’s policy on Conduct of Business in English.
