Program Goals

Explore the depth and breadth of Christian Theology in a program designed on the principle of “faith seeking understanding.”

Designed primarily for adult students who are working full-time in their professions or homes, the MTS program builds the foundation of critical tools, methods of analysis and solid theological reflection and culminates in practical application of theological knowledge.

The program recognizes that Theology is a true science with its own criteria of analysis and reflection, which at the same time is based on faith, the human encounter with the mystery of God.

Career Outlook

Students in this theological studies graduate program will have a deeper connection with their faith and have the ability to articulate and spread the Christian faith as we are meant to. This program emphasizes faith, reflection, and analysis, providing students with critical thinking skills that are extremely valuable to employers. Graduates can work in ministries, churches, non-profits, and religious organizations as leaders in faith and service.

“My studies at Spring Hill College provided me a strong foundation to continue my work to serve others that are most in need. The Masters in Theological Studies program truly helps you understand our own Catholic faith in a deep and rich way, as well as the faith of all others including those who choose to not have a specific belief. This has been critical to my growth as Executive Director of a Foundation that provides scholarships to the underserved communities to attend Catholic schools where quite often, our scholars are not Catholic themselves. Spring Hill College’s Theology program truly helped me have a wider lens of how to love others and help create the beloved community here on earth.” – Joe Barker
