- Golden Badger Reunion | Class of 1975
Dear Class of 75:
Can you believe it’s been 50 years since we walked down the Avenue of the Oaks? While much has changed, the fondness and memories of our days on “The Hill” remain constant. Here are a couple of important updates about Homecoming:
HOTEL REGISTRATION:
There are several options for hotels and lodging this year. The College has some great options for hotels this year! Some are downtown. Others are closer to the College. Remember to request the Spring Hill College discounted rate when you call, or click HERE to make your reservation!
THURSDAY NIGHT GET-TOGETHER:
Join us for a class get-together on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at T.P. Crockmeir’s at 6:00 p.m. It’s just a few blocks from the Battle House at 250 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36602. Bring your spouse! Bring friends – all are welcome! NOTE: On Friday night, after the Bay Boil, we will have an informal gathering at POST on the Hill, 4513 Old Shell Road.
IMPORTANT EVENTS:
Click here to view a tentative HOMECOMING SCHEDULE. Please note that events, dates, and times are still subject to change.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17
Bay Boil – Join us near St. Joseph Chapel, under the lights, for our Traditional Bay Boil. Feast on shrimp, crawfish, jamablaya, and all of the fixings, including bread pudding for dessert! There will be live music, beer, wine, and plenty of Badger fellowship!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18
Run for the Hill – Mind, Body, Sprint 5 K Run
This 5K run takes the “scenic route,” through campus, down the Avenue of the Oaks, the old Jesuit residences, back to St. Joseph Chapel! Look for a separate link (coming soon) on the Homecoming inforamtion page.
Seniors with Seniors Brunch – Starts at 10:00 a.m. This is an opportunity for the class of 1975 to share some wisdom and life experiences with the graduating seniors of 2026. Meet us in Byrne Memorial Hall and hear from our President, Dr. Mary H. Van Brunt, and the current senior class president. Enjoy a hearty brunch, which includes shrimp and grits, and close it out with a champagne toast.
Finding Your Badger Roots – when you leave the brunch, walk over to the Burke Memorial Library for a trip down memory lane through the college’s archives. Learn how to access the archives to find information about your time here on The Hill. Find yearbook photos, copies of The Springhillian links to books, lectures, and other fun info – just for our class!
50 Years of Rugby on The Hill – join us Saturday afternoon as we honor those Badgers who helped bring Rugby to the Hill! There is a lot to celebrate during this 50th anniversary. More details to come.
Alumni Memorial Mass – We will gather in St. Joseph Chapel to remember deceased alumni, family, and friends. Mass will be celebrated by our classmate, Rev. Billy Huete, S.J., class of 1976.
Class Picture Re-Enactment – Following the Mass, we will “process” to the steps of Byrne Hall to re-take our class picture. We will assemble at 5:30, right before the Golden Badger Dinner.
Golden Badger Dinner – This event is the culmination of our 50th Reunion activities. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. in Byrne Memorial Hall. We will have a formal address from our President, Dr. May H. Van Brunt, and hear from our classmates. Dr. Rebecca Cantor, Provost, will close out the evening with the conferral of our Golden Badger Diplomas. Note: you must be present to receive your diploma; they will not be mailed.
CLASS GIFT:
We will make our announcement at the Golden Badger Dinner.
MEMORY LANE:
Below is a link to a Promotional video of the college, produced by the SHC Communications Department in 1974/1975. It was put together by Richard Bienvenu and narrated by Tom Roach, both classmates; sadly, Tom has passed away. It contains some great shots of our campus and the times we had. We thought you all might enjoy this trip down memory lane:
