Dear Class of 74:
Can you believe it’s been 50 years since we walked down the Avenue of the Oaks? While much has changed, the fondness and memories of our days on “The Hill,” remain constant. Here are a couple of important updates about Homecoming:
HOTEL REGISTRATION:
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Battle House -just for the class of 74 – thanks to Steve B. The group rate for our class is $209 or $219. We can book as early as today, through Wednesday, September 18th to get this rate. See the registration link and info below:

THURSDAY NIGHT GET TOGETHER:
Join us for a class get-together on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at T.P. Crockmeir’s at 6:00 p.m. It’s just a few blocks from the Battle House at 250 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36602.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18
Retro Trivia Night – Join us at McKinney’s after the Bay Boil at 8:30 p.m. Play a fun Q & A game about what was happening on The Hill and in the world when we were students. Create teams and win door prizes.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19,
Seniors with Seniors Brunch – Starts at 10:00 a.m. This is an opportunity for the class of 1974 to share some wisdom and life experiences with the graduating seniors of 2025. Meet us in Byrne Memorial Hall and hear from our President, Dr. Mary H. Van Brunt, and the current senior class president. Enjoy a hearty brunch which includes shrimp and grits and close it out with a champagne toast.
Finding Your Badger Roots – when you leave the brunch, walk over to the Burke Memorial Library at 11:15 a.m. for a trip down memory lane through the college’s archives. Learn how to access the archives to find information about your time here on The Hill. Find yearbook photos, copies of The Springhillian, links to books, lectures, and other fun info – just for our class!
Walsh Funeral – who lived in Walsh Hall? Surely you have fond memories of one of the oldest and most iconic buildings on campus. Join us as we say goodbye to the old, to make room for our new Health Science Innovation Center. Share some of your best memories of Walsh and join President Van Brunt for a final goodbye toast.
Golden Badger Dinner – This event is the culmination of our 50th Reunion activities. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. in Byrne Memorial Hall. We will have a formal address from our President, our class leaders from 1974, and the 2025 senior class president. Dr. Rebecca Cantor, Provost will close out the evening with conferral of our Golden Badger Diplomas. Note: you must be present to receive your diploma; they will not be mailed.
