It was an honor to be among those representing Spring Hill College at a very moving, standing-room-only vigil last night at the Ahavas Chesed Synagogue in remembrance of the 11 people who died at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.
Prayers of many faiths were shared as we stood in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters not only from Mobile, Alabama but across the country and the world. Together we reflected on the tragedy of the lives lost. Together we pledged to be there for each other now and whenever there is a need to support and defend our faith.
As members of the Spring Hill College community, your continued prayers, belief in justice and the God that connects us all is a strength unlike any other. It’s a strength that will help heal the wounds of this tragedy. And a strength that will help chart a new course toward peace, civility and humanity.
Thank you for this special gift that you bring to our campus, our community and our world.
