Spring Hill College recently received national recognition for the integrity of its truly individualized and engaging education. As an institution whose primary goals are based on student success and satisfaction, Spring Hill is proud of its honor as one of the renowned Colleges of Distinction.
The recognition is given for, among other things, the engaged and vibrant campus community, successful student outcomes and the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, that is, care for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Spring Hill also received distinction awards for its Business and Nursing departments as well as the Career Development program.
“It is most welcome news that we, once again, have been named as a champion of higher education with the Colleges of Distinction awards,” said President E. Joseph Lee II, PhD. “This speaks to the level of dedication from our valued faculty and staff as well as our students who gravitate to our Jesuit, liberal arts programs.”
Colleges of Distinction, for 20 years, has been committed to connecting students with colleges, universities and information that prepare students for successful careers, active citizenship and lifelong learning. It advocates for institutions whose undergraduate experiences are grounded in a philosophy of well-rounded, individualized engagement. Spring Hill has excelled at having students graduate and enter the workforce with solid, well-developed critical thinking skills as well as the ability to adapt in an ever-changing society.
“We complete a thorough review of the programs before granting the honors,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer for Colleges of Distinction. “We’re looking for qualities such as accreditation, breadth of program, advising and mentoring, integration of career services, and successful outcomes for students.”
