Mobile, Ala.— Spring Hill College continues to gain recognition for its student experience, academic programs and commitment to student success, earning several notable spots in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.
For 2026, Spring Hill College is ranked:
#5 in Top Private Schools in the South (tie)
#57 in Top Performers on Social Mobility (tie)
These rankings add to a growing list of national recognition for Spring Hill College. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the College was also named a College of Distinction, earning additional recognition as a Best Affordable College, Best Private College, Best Catholic College, College with Outstanding Career Services, Nursing College of Distinction and Business College of Distinction. Colleges of Distinction evaluates institutions based on four areas: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community and Successful Outcomes.
At the same time, Spring Hill continues to expand opportunities for students. The College recently launched its Exercise Science major, giving students another pathway into the growing fields of health, wellness and human performance. The program joins a broader expansion of academic offerings designed to prepare students for evolving career fields.
That growth will continue with the Annette N. Shelby Health and Science Innovation Center, a new 57,000-square-foot facility currently under construction on The Hill. The $35 million center is designed to strengthen Spring Hill’s nursing, pre-med, health sciences and natural sciences programs while providing students with advanced laboratories, simulation spaces and opportunities for hands-on learning and research. Completion is anticipated in early 2027.
Together, these developments reflect a college that continues to build on its foundation while creating new opportunities for the next generation of Badgers.
As Spring Hill College approaches its 200th anniversary, the College remains focused on providing students with an education grounded in its Jesuit, Catholic tradition while preparing them to meet the opportunities and challenges of the future.
