Spring Hill College Partners with Jesuit Volunteer Corps

(Mobile, Ala.) Spring Hill College is pleased to announce a partnership agreement with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) to extend preferred tuition benefits (10% discount) to current Jesuit Volunteer Corps eligible employees and their immediate family members (defined as spouses and children). The agreement also extends to JVC alumni, which includes an additional 11,000 members who would be eligible to participate. Spring Hill College and JVC offer a clear benefit to students, this collaboration supports learning experiences by providing access, resources and high academic standards while offering flexibility and affordability to the JVC family.

Patrick Sprague, director of operations for Spring Hill’s Center for Online Learning said talks began back in April during a discussion about online opportunities. “This partnership will allow the College to expand its reach to JVC employees, alumni and their immediate family members wherever they are in the world and offer opportunities for them to continue to grow in their academic journey,” said Sprague. “We are dedicated to our Jesuit mission by providing educational opportunities to our Jesuit community.”

For over 60 years, the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) has been a pioneer in the service landscape. With over 200 volunteers each year and 11,000 alumni, they are one of the largest lay, Catholic, full-time volunteer programs in the world.

JVC volunteers currently provide vital service within 37 communities across five countries. With the goal of forming leaders committed to faith in action, JVC provides young adults with the opportunity to serve poor and marginalized communities while engaging deeply with the Jesuit values of spirituality, community, simple living and social justice. Our volunteers bring a dedication to the cause of justice and the courage to transform themselves and the communities they serve. We help them discover how to put this passion to work for life.

Spring Hill’s Center for Online Learning has created a separate landing page for access to the preferred tuition benefits information and available online programs that are offered. For more information on degree offerings and to apply go here.
