Spring Hill College Presents 2022 Honors Convocation

Spring Hill College held its annual Honors Convocation on Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Joseph Chapel. This event honors undergraduate and graduate students for academic and service achievements. Inductees of the College’s 14 honor societies were recognized, including Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities, which acknowledges junior and senior students as outstanding examples of the ideals of Jesuit education. The President’s Scholars were also honored as well as those on the Dean’s Roll of Honor. In addition, awards were presented to students for their academic and extracurricular activities on campus.

The ceremony began with an invocation given by Colleen Lee, director of Campus Ministry, followed by a welcome by Steven Almquist, Ph.D., interim associate provost. Catherine Swender, Ph.D., associate professor of English gave the address as Teacher of the Year. Following the presentation of awards, the event was closed with a benediction by Rev. Robert Poirier, S.J., vice president of mission and identity. View the photo gallery here:

Spring Hill’s Executive Vice President, Ken England, Ed.D., presented the awards as President, E. Joseph Lee, Ph.D., had a conflicting event. “I am continually amazed by our students and their commitment to excellence,” England said. “It shows in their achievements both inside and outside the classroom. Their success is a result of their hard work and the dedication of our faculty and staff. We congratulate all of the honorees and look forward to their continued success beyond The Hill.”
