Our creative writing minor is great for students who want to expand their creative processes and their interpretation of literature, rhetoric, and life. This minor revolves around several different creative genres of writing including fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and playwriting. Students are able to choose which genres they would like to study, making the program much more flexible and personalized for each student.
This program covers the basics of composition as well as provides a deeper dive into the different worlds of literature. With the ability to choose which subjects to study, students will be able to create their own creative writing minor that tailors to their goals and interests.
Students of this program will learn rhetorical and writing skills that will help them in the workforce by honing their critical and creative thinking processes. This is a great opportunity for students looking to go into a field with a heavy emphasis on writing and creativity.
“Whenever someone asks what my major was in college, I quickly respond, “I was an English major with a writing minor.” I don’t think I’ve ever said that sentence without a bit of pride in it. My writing minor has helped shape me into the person I am today.” – Abby Rhodes
