Nursing Program
The Baccalaureate Degree Program in Nursing at Spring Hill College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
The Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This program has been closed to new students.
Students in the BSN program at Spring Hill College conduct their clinicals in the state of Alabama.
Licensure requirements for nursing vary by state. All states require graduation from an approved nursing program in order to be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Passing the NCLEX is required for initial registered nurse licensure.
Nursing graduates may obtain either a single-state nursing license, which authorizes practice only in the state that issued the license, or a multistate license, if eligible. Multistate licensure is governed by the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) and is available to nurses whose primary state of residence is a participating compact state. Nurses holding a multistate license may practice in other NLC-participating states in accordance with compact rules.
