It's the season of spreading joy, of a little extra kindness and goodwill to all. For students at Spring Hill College, this includes the annual tradition of "Christmas on the Hill -- Sharing the Spirit of the Season" and presenting gifts and necessities to Catholic Social Services refugee families.

Admissions to host Senior Select Visit Day Sept. 29

MOBILE — The Admissions Office will host a Select Visit Day Friday, Sept. 29, for high school seniors and their families. Our guests will attend a class, take a tour of campus, learn about academics and campus life and eat in the cafeteria. The College community is invited to meet our prospective students from 9:15-9:45 a.m. for a continental breakfast in the Gautrelet Room.

Spring Hill College Golf Course Holiday Project to Help Homeless Center

MOBILE — Between Dec. 15 and Dec. 24, any player or customer at the Spring Hill College Golf Course who makes a purchase of $20 or less will receive a $1 discount if they bring in a canned good. Any purchase of $20 or more can be discounted up to $8.00. Players bringing in 8 canned goods will receive an $8 discount off of their $20, or more, purchase. This offer is good for golf and merchandise.

(Mobile, Ala.) -- Spring Hill College will welcome Dr. Wayne Flynt as the guest speaker for the Mobile Bridges Program’s “Dining with a Purpose” series, Thursday, Jan. 18 from 6- 8:30 p.m. Dr. Flynt’s presentation is titled “The Alabama 1901 Constitution and How it is Connected to Issues of Race and Poverty.”

The program will be held in Byrne Memorial Hall on the Spring Hill College campus. The evening will include a speaker, dinner and facilitated conversation. 

Spring Hill College mourns loss of trustee Andrew J. McLaughlin Jr. ’53

MOBILE — Spring Hill College is mourning the loss of trustee, former board chairman and alumnus Andrew J. McLaughlin Jr., who died Sept. 11 at age 74. 

McLaughlin graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. In 1990 he was the keynote speaker at the Spring Hill College Business Associates Luncheon. McLaughlin was inducted to the Spring Hill College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997 for his achievements in basketball and baseball. He also served as honorary coach for the men’s basketball team during the 2000 season. 

Spring semester prayer service Jan. 17

The Spring Hill College campus community will gather for the spring semester prayer service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17 in St. Joseph Chapel to ask God's blessing upon our work as we continue "Weaving the Social Fabric: Restoring, Renewing, Rebuilding our Gulf Coast Communities." All offices will be closed during the service so the entire Spring Hill community may attend.
