Former Miss Torch and Miss America dies at 87.

“I’m a Southern girl, but I’m a thinking girl.” Yolande Betbeze Fox, SHC's "Miss Torch" 1950, played many roles during her lifetime including Miss America 1951, picketer for civil rights, a coloratura soprano, well-read in philosophy, an off-Broadway producer, and Democratic Party fundraiser.

Whitworth named Badger women’s soccer head coach

Spring Hill College Director of Athletics Jim Hall announced today that the college has named Allison Whitworth as its new head coach of women’s soccer. Whitworth, an alumna of Auburn University, joins the Badgers following a successful three-year stint as the lead assistant/goalkeeper coach and recruiting coordinator with the Ohio University Bobcats in Athens, Ohio.

Spring Hill College to offer degree program in Health Science in fall 2015

MOBILE, Ala. – Responding to the needs of the health care industry, Spring Hill College will offer a Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) beginning fall 2015. Spring Hill faculty and administration have designed the program to prepare students for master and doctorate entry-level health careers that have different prerequisites than the traditional pre-med degree.

Spring Hill College awards its most prestigious scholarships

Four incoming freshmen are recipients of the Spring Hill Scholars award, Spring Hill College’s most prestigious academic scholarship.

Recipients epitomize the well-rounded Spring Hill student and are chosen based on academic performance, leadership, service and a competitive interview. Those selected to receive the Spring Hill Scholar award receive a full-tuition and comprehensive fees scholarship worth more than $120,000 over four years.
